Emma Thompson is sharing her experiences through a trying time in her life.

The “Love Actually” actress recently opened up about the moment she learnt about her ex-husband Kenneth Branagh’s alleged liaison with Helena Bonham Carter, who was a co-star on the film at the time, in an interview with “The New Yorker.”
”I was utterly, utterly blind to the fact that he had relationships with other women on set,” the “Harry Potter” star shared. “What I learned was how easy it is to be blinded by your own desire to deceive yourself.”
After appearing with Emma in six movies together, Kenneth and Emma got divorced in 1995. Kenneth then supposedly dated Helena for five years before their relationship ended in 1999. This all happened when Kenneth was directing and starring in the 1994 movie “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.”
“I was half alive. Any sense of being a lovable or worthy person had gone completely,” said Emma.

“I had a partial life. Any idea that I was a loveable or deserving person has utterly vanished,” Emma added.
Greg Wise, who played John Willoughby in the movie “Sense and Sensibility,” was first introduced to Emma when she was cast as the lead in that year.
The duo, though at odds in the movie, fell in love in real life, and Emma claims Greg was the one who “picked up the pieces and put them back together.” They have been married for 19 years and have been together for 27 years.
When asked why the character appeals to her so much, Emma said, “Nanny McPhee is a fantastic heroic presence. She understands exactly what to do, loves completely, and then has to leave. she makes a sacrifice. She is compelled to always leave the people she loves. She advocates for disengagement. She may be so compelling to me because I get much too attached to things, which may explain why.
In 2023, the musical is scheduled to debut in London’s West End.
