Research into range loss of electric cars during the winter and in cold weather has found

that some EVs can lose as much as 30% of their initial range as estimated by the Environmental Protection Agency

when temperatures are between 20degF and 32degF.

than 40%, electric cars typically lose 12% of range during the cold, but that loss jumps to 41% when heaters are running at full blast.

All EVs will lose a bit of range during cold weather, according to new research by battery analytics company Recurrent,
