How Does Tesla Autopilot Work In Snow?
In one test, conducted on snowy roads in Edmonton, Canada, Teslas full-self-driving tech seemed to be far off.
In May 2016, a Tesla vehicle crashed, killing its driver, when its semi-autonomous drive system failed to
detect a white semi-truck driving past in front of it. In May, the electric carmaker announced that
it was adopting the Tesla Vision, saying it will permanently delete radars from Model 3s and Model Ys, using
only cameras for Teslas Autopilot and FSD. Immediately following a test drive,
the cars rear-view camera looked as though it had been submerged in water; however,
this did not hamper the Tesla Autopilot feature in any way on Model 3.
