How Fast Is The New Tesla Semi-Truck?

Tesla says that its next large vehicle will be able to travel up to 500 miles on the highway, with five seconds to reach 60 miles per hour.

Without the trailer tow, Tesla said, the Semi could reach 60 miles per hour in five blazing seconds.

CEO Elon Musk noted the Tesla Semi will be able to reach freeway speeds in roughly 20 seconds when fully loaded,

 which is not nearly as quick as an ordinary Tesla, such as a Model 3, but is far quicker than the average diesel-powered truck.

 As far as going uphill with full load, a regular diesel truck gets to 45 miles per hour on a 5% grade;

 his Semi will hit 65 miles per hour on that same grade.

More importantly, the Tesla truck will go five percent of the way at a sustained 65 miles per hour,

while a diesel truck will top out at 45 miles per hour on a 5 percent grade.
