How Much Can The Tesla Semi Pull?

Tesla says that it designed the Semi as a Class 8 truck, which has a maximum towing capacity of 80,000 pounds.

When Tesla first showed off the Semi back in November 2017, many critics questioned

 whether an all-electric heavy-duty Class 8 truck would stick to its estimated towing capability once it reached the manufacturing phase.

When Tesla first showed its Class 8 EV tractor truck to the world in November 2017,

 Elon Musk said production would start in 2019, with 50 capable of following one another autonomously in a convoy.

He saying the Tesla Semi project would ultimately be 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) long.

 CEO Elon Musks said he is "hopeful" that the company will be producing an all-electric truck in 2023, along with the second-generation Roadster.
