If you take into account the 53-foot trailers weight when it is empty, and the comments by
Tesla CEO Elon Musk that the Semi is weighing a total of 81,000 pounds
it suggests the Tesla Semi is weighing around 27,000 pounds in a semi truck.
During a shipping event, Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed that the first Tesla Semi EV is designed to be capable of 500 miles of range on a fully loaded trailer
meaning that the battery pack inside the truck is going to need to be absolutely gigantic.
If Tesla is saying Tesla is expecting the cargo capacity to be at least as large as what diesel trucks will be capable of
it means the Tesla Semi is now under 2000 pounds heavier than an average diesel truck.
Tesla semi trucks are capable of hauling 82,000 pounds over 6 percent of the mountains
and they clearly have the range to haul loads 500 miles.
Tesla Inc. (TSLA.O) said it completed a 500-mile trip on one charge
hauling in the companys first Heavy-Duty Semi truck, with a combined weight of 81,000 pounds.
