As expected with SUVs, you actually sit taller in Model Y, with an additional 27 millimeters in ride height
and an elevated seating position up front and the Model Ys high roofline still gives it more headroom than Model 3 sedans.
The remaining differences are in Model Y interior space,
where 154mm more height is hugely apparent, adding to much more headroom, especially at the rear.
The Model Y is just about 2 inches longer and 2 inches wider than the Model 3, yet it has 68 cubic feet of cargo space to the Model 3s 15 cubic feet.
On the outside, the Model 3 versus Model Y measurements from Tesla indicate the Model Y is 2.2 inches longer, 2.8 inches wider, and 7.2 inches taller than Model 3.
Being taller and wider, however, may have a detrimental effect on handling,
which is why it is not surprising to see both the front and rear tracks of the Tesla Model Y increased by 2.2 inches.
According to Silvern, the Tesla Model Y has an 8-9-inch higher roof than a Model 3, making it easier to climb inside.
