Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, stated in August that his all-electric Semi trucks would begin shipping this year, though CEO estimates are not always accurate.

Tesla's Semi would have an estimated 500-mile range from a single Tesla charge, a range it could reach at 82,000 pounds.

The Tesla Semi would cost $20 per kilometre (12 cents per mile) less to operate than a diesel vehicle, according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, if charged at the megacharger.
