The Washington Commanders have changed big things for good.

Taylor Heinicke took over as Carson Wentz's backup after the quarterback suffered an injury and

began games much like he had on occasion over the previous two seasons.

Heinicke will start going forward, regardless of Wentz's health.

Rapoport claims that the quarterback has successfully positioned himself to start.

It's difficult to believe the shocking victory over the previously unblemished Philadelphia Eagles had no influence on the choice.

Heinicke has a 3-1 record as a starter with the Commanders this year.

He was a starter in Washington last year and went 7-8.

He participated in Washington's 2020 season as well, however he did not start.
