Tesla will temporarily halt Model Y production in Shanghai, according to a report

according to Reuters, the Model Y's assembly will be halted between December 25 and January 1.

this change is a part of a projected 30% reduction in Model Y production to "over 20,000" units.

No official statement has been made regarding such a production slowdown would actually occur.

over 100,000 units were sold in November, a record high, in because of extremely strong local sales.

in October, Tesla reduced the cost of its Made-in-China (MIC) Model 3 and Model Y by 5-9%.

On November 7 rebates totaling 6,000 yuan  and an insurance-related incentive worth 4,000 yuan were introduced.

The 11,088 CNY (nearly $1,600) subsidy will be eliminated at the end of the year.
