Harry Kane will have an ankle scan before England's World Cup match against the USA.

Harry Kane might not play in England's World Cup match against the United States on Friday.

In the second half of the Three Lions' 6-2 victory over Iran in their World Cup opener on

Monday, England's Harry Kane captain suffered a right ankle injury.

Kane was observed leaving the stadium after the game with a limp and straps around his ankle.

In order to determine the severity of his injury, Kane will now have a scan before England's second encounter in Group B.

Kane, meanwhile, may have little time to recover before England's second Group B encounter if he sustains any harm.

If Kane is unable to play, Callum Wilson of Newcastle United, who took Kane's place in

the second half of the victory over Iran, would be anticipated to step in.
