What Is The Cost For A Tesla Semi Truck?
Tesla listed estimated prices for 300-mile and 500-mile versions on its website,
Teslas Semi Electric Truck, at $150,000 and $180,000, respectively, lower than what some experts had predicted.
At $150, Teslas Semi is already better value for money on a per-mile basis than the diesel trucks that
dominate todays trucking industry. Estimates by most electric semi manufacturers are in the 2kwh-2.5kwh range per mile,
and with current electric prices in the $0.11-$0.20/KWh range, the electric truck could be as low as $0.50/mile cheaper to operate.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk claims the Tesla Semi will be $20//mile (12//km) cheaper to operate than a diesel truck when
charged at the megacharger, where Tesla will guarantee the 7C//kWh price (in the US).
Production of his first electric Semi would ramp up through 2023, and, if everything goes right, Tesla could
deliver 50,000 units per year to North American customers by 2024, Elon Musk told analysts and investors.
