Which electric truck—the Tesla Cybertruck, Ford F-150 Lightning, or Rivian R1T—is best?

The new Rivian R1T and the 2018 Ford F-150 Lightning will both have top-of-the-line trims, but the two trucks are very different from one another.

The Tesla, the world's first completely electric pickup, appears to fall between between the Rivian R1T and the Ford F-150 Lightning.

As previously announced, an all-electric pickup will soon have a workhorse basic model

that starts about $39,000, similar to its cross-town rival and the Tesla Cybertruck.

With Rivian being available with a 22-inch rim, the R1top T's trim level is believed to be capable of exceeding 800 horsepower.

Although it surpasses the 1,000-pound towing capacity of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

the Rivian R1T has the lowest towing capacity of the four electric trucks.

Ford estimates that the 2022 F-150 Lightning will have 580 horsepower for extended-range battery variants

and 775 lb-ft of torque for both normal and extended-range battery models.
