Will Mercedes Benz Make Better Electric Cars Than Tesla?
Despite its slow arrival in the e-mobility revolution, German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benzs luxurious EV hatchback,
the EQS, was named by German motoring journal, Auto Motor und Sport, the worlds best EV.
Mercedes-Benzs new EV is now the longest-range EV tested by Edmunds, beating the previous leader, the Tesla Model 3 Long Range, by 77 miles.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS is fast, but not by tartan fast, in any way, so we are going to compare it with the long-range, all-wheel-drive version of the Tesla Model S.
The Tesla Model S is not a luxury car, but it could pass as a premium one.
Mercedes EQS also has more range offered per charge than Tesla Model X,
which would be a more quantifiable, and favourable, metric required of EV owners.
The German carmakers EV-powered S-class EQS, currently leading the pack among the groups high-end luxury EVs,
costs in the region of 16 to 17kWh per 100km, and in actual conditions, it is usually higher.
Both cars feature similar lengthy list of standard equipment, full of driver-assistance technology,
but Mercedes-AMGs EQS 4matic+ sedan offers a few luxuries, like soft-close doors and a massage seat, that the Plaid does not.
